The time for talking is over and the time for action has arrived. The month of September will see us install our first aquaponics garden. The first installment will be small, keeping about 30 tilapia and growing some late season greens and maybe an experiment with cabbage and herbs. This will be a recirculating floating raft system. Some future additions will be flood and drain.
The system will be set up in a greenhouse out at the farm rather than in the sunroom here in the burb, because we have the house on the market and I don’t relish the idea of taking it apart and moving it when the house sells.
My plan is to make every attempt to chronicle the entire process here for your amusement and enlightenment. I will take as many photos of the process as possible to help visualize the breadth and depth of my ineptitude. We may even capture a few moments on the flip cam, but that can be risky. It has audio.
