Hello again world. First things first, Happy New Year.
Brittan and I want to thank so many of you for sticking with us for our long absence. We’ve moved and needed to get that taken care of first. We’re in Scotland. Yes, you heard that right. We’re living in Buckie, on the Moray Firth, about halfway between Inverness and Aberdeen. This is a gorgeous part of the world and we’re loving it here.
One of the things that makes our move so helpful to the thoughts behind Our Edible Suburb is we’re back in urban living where its easier for you to relate to what we write about. For example, we have no space to garden. None. Nada. Nothing. But I’m going to find a way.
B and I live right downtown Buckie in an upstairs apartment. We have no yard at all. I’ll get some photos later to show you. It’s too dark right now. But I really want to garden. It’s part of my life. So, I’m going to put some pots along the Western ground level of our building, along the Western side of our Church building, and some friends of our have said I can use part of their greenhouse for tomatoes. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
I will tell you more as I get started. Which will be in about three weeks. That’s about when it will be time to start tomato and pepper seeds inside. And I’ve already got my seeds. This year I will plant hot and sweet peppers, several types of tomatoes, lettuce, bok choy, cucumbers, beets, potatoes, crooked neck squash, zucchini, spaghetti squash and butternut squash. I admit it’s ambitious, but I won’t put out many plants of any variety this year.
I hope that’s enough to keep you interested and coming back to follow along. You rock. Have you decided what you’re planting yet? If so, by all means send me a comment and let me know. Talk to you soon.
We’re all missing you on Aquaponics Nation!
Hey I just saw this. Thanks so much.
